Certification Training

The passage of House Bill 285 brings with it a new Erosion and Sedimentation Control Program, charging the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission with managing and administering the new education and certification process.  Anyone involved in land development, design, review, permitting, construction, monitoring, inspection, or any land-disturbing activity in Georgia must meet these new education requirements and be certified by the Commission.

The Oconee River RC&D Council is offering Erosion and Sedimentation Control Certification Courses in partnership with Athens Technical College and local Soil & Water Conservation Districts.  Our partnership efforts result in certification courses being offered to you locally, in your county or community.  Courses are currently scheduled in Crawford, Greensboro, Milledgeville, Monroe, and Winder.  Additional locations can be scheduled, as needed.  See the local area course schedule below.

Athens Technical College is offering Erosion and Sedimentation Control Certification Courses at their main campus in Athens.  Serving a 10 county area in northeast Georgia, Athens Technical College offers many opportunities for career and self development.

See the Athens Technical College main campus course schedule here.
